Frolicking turned to fate as we

Hearts as barren as the white walls surrounding us.

Breaths became incapable to grasp, shallow and void.
Reality was unable to clutch, as it began to fade away.
So did our feelings for each other, raw and numb.
Proving to us that two wrongs will never make a right.
Feet hit the ground, tempted...

And just when I was not looking,
There came the dawn, rushing over me.
Bracing me. Embracing me.
With delusions of unsullied air,
And dew drops to kiss my feet.
And what is dew, but recycled water,
And we, tainted by intoxicating promises
of new morning, accept it as true.
That each dawn brings a new day,
and with that, a new beginning.
